Beijing 2022 will be the first carbon-neutral Winter Olympics in history. China integrated sustainability principles throughout its preparation for the games, from reusing legacy venues from 2008 to deploying new refrigeration technologies and renewable energy, including a hydrogen-fueled Olympic torch. The games are advancing sustainable investment in China well beyond 2022.
